This modern shaped self-contained china toilet is very water efficient, using just 1.1 USG (4 litres) of water per flush. It was designed with several purposes in mind:
for situations where there is not enough space
as a toilet that uses a minimum amount of water
as a toilet for use with people that have physical limitations.
The Sanicompact has no external water tank as the flushing mechanism is built in and is totally electric. After use, one presses a pneumatic button on top of the bowl, this activates a timer and a solenoid valve in order to fill and wash the sides of the bowl. The motor starts and the waste and paper are sucked inside, where it is macerated and pumped away. To learn more about the macerating process please refer to What is a macerator? The motor stops after approximately 15 seconds and the timer programs the refill of the bowl with fresh water. In addition to the toilet waste, SANICOMPACT 48 will also discharge wastewater of a sink.
The discharge pipe of the Sanicompact is 1 inch in diameter, the pump operates at 7 PSI and pumps the effluent upwards to 9 feet and/or 100 feet horizontally. The discharge pipe-work may be made with either copper or solvent welded plastic material, provided that a consistent gravity fall of 2% is maintained throughout the run.
The Sanicompact is a self contained toilet with the macerator pump and an electrical activated flushing action built inside the unit. That is why this toilet can be installed in very small places. Sanicompact does not depend on gravity, so it can be used where large diameter pipe cannot be used.
