Sanicompact Macerating Toilet System
Turns Tight Spaces into New Bathrooms

The SANICOMPACT 48 is a self-contained water closet that combines a macerating pump and an electronically activated toilet bowl into a single compact unit, making it ideal for tight spaces where installation space is severely limited.

With the SANICOMPACT 48 from Saniflo, a homeowner can create a new powder room in an attic, loft or pool house, inside a closet, underneath a basement stairway, or anywhere else that she might find convenient. Measuring only 14-3/4 inches wide and 21-3/4 inches deep, the SANICOMPACT is 18-1/2 inches high to better accommodate individuals who find using a conventional, 15-inch-high toilet difficult.

One gallon per flush: The SANICOMPACT 48 also offers exceptional water conservation, requiring only one gallon per flush. In addition to disposing waste from the toilet, the macerator inside can also pump water away from a nearby hand basin. The system uses a one-inch discharge pipe to pump effluent 9 feet vertically, 100 feet horizontally, or a combination of both. (Note: A vertical run of three feet is equivalent to a horizontal run of 30 feet.)

Made of vitreous china, the SANICOMPACT 48 is the junior edition of Saniflo's popular Saniplus model, working in much the same manner, except that the pump and macerating unit are housed inside the fixture (rather than in a separate box for positioning behind the toilet).

Also unlike the Saniplus or a conventional toilet, the SANICOMPACT system needs no external, gravity-flow tank. That's because the flushing-macerating cycle is automatic with a push of the air-switch button at the top of the bowl.

HOW IT WORKS: What follows is a step-by-step description of that flushing-macerating cycle:

1 Pressing the air switch activates a timer and a solenoid valve, filling and washing the side of the toilet bowl with water.

2 Operating with a pressure of seven pounds per square inch (7 psi), the pump motor starts, drawing effluent and paper through the bowl and to the macerator.

3 The cutting blades of the macerator quickly reduce the effluent, pumping it away through the one-inch discharge line.

4 The pump motor stops within 15 seconds of its activation and the bowl automatically refills with fresh water to be ready for the next flush.

The SANICOMPACT carries a CSA mark for plumbing and electrical use in the United States as well as Canada. Saniflo warranties the SANICOMPACT, including all electrical components, for 24 months.
